AI-Driven Innovations for Yachts: Videoworks Steals the Show at the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show

As seasoned leaders in the realm of boat technology systems, Videoworks has over a quarter-century of prowess under their belt and hundreds of innovative audio/video, entertainment, IT, and lighting systems to their credit. Their groundbreaking creations grace super yachts worldwide, contributing to Videoworks' ongoing success.

Innovations on Display

On the cutting-edge of innovation, Videoworks is set to surprise the yachting industry yet again with its pioneering AI-driven technology. At the forthcoming Monaco Yacht Show in 2024, this Italian company plans to rouse curiosity and excitement by unveiling the first real-world application of artificial intelligence (AI) in the yachting industry.

Videoworks' AI-driven energy management system - a groundbreaking solution specifically designed for electric super yachts, will take center stage at a press conference on September 27, 2024. Moreover, the company plans to showcase three additional new products alongside its AI solution: the Loewe TV, an SD-WAN system for optimizing internet connections on yachts, and the ETO panel, a remarkable tool for controlling all onboard functions.

AI's Maritime Potential

Sergio Saponara, Head of the Department of Information Engineering at the University of Pisa, will provide an easy-to-understand overview of the technology before exploring the broader potential of AI in the maritime sector. Maurizio Minossi, CEO of Videoworks, will delve into the details of how AI can enhance onboard comfort and efficiency by optimizing energy usage. AI offers a myriad of possibilities, enhancing comfort on the boat while minimizing energy wastage. For instance, AI applications can calculate cabin air conditioning set points based on a yacht's energy reserves, or predict the consumption of the accommodation cabins for the next six hours based on the number of passengers, their location, weather conditions, and planned route.

The Stellar Loewe TV

The other innovations and collaborations Videoworks will exhibit during MYS 2024 include an exclusive Loewe TV. The brand, which debuted the first radio in Bavaria's Kronach in the 1920s, is reclaiming its leading role in the television sector. The Loewe TV's exceptional design and functionality make it an attractive add-on to shipbuilders, designers, and boat owners.

A Home Internet Experience with the SD-WAN System

Then there's the SD-WAN system that caters to boat owners accustomed to enjoying smooth audio and video content on their yachts, just like at home. With the scalability of low-orbit satellites like Starlink or OneWeb and 5G connections, digital platforms, smart TV, and specific devices now allow boat owners and guests to watch anything from sports to movies on the Internet. However, to benefit efficiently from these products, boat owners and their guests need SD-WAN for optimal internet-based entertainment.

Control at Your Fingertips with the ETO Panel

Finally, to simplify the management of ship electronic and electrical equipment, Videoworks has designed the ETO panel. This interface, accessible via tablet or smartphone, provides complete control over audio and video systems, computer systems, and all onboard systems.
